I wish I could fly
far away from this place
that is so filled with
you and I
Everything spills over with
your memory, your scent, your image
assaulting all of my senses
To take to the sky
to leave it all behind
to be free of the pain
that never leaves me
that would be wonderful
But it is just a dream
a foolish hope
one I must tuck away
in the quiet corners of my mind
Because I can't fly
and even if I could
I don't think I would
