Fly's Eye View Poem by Mary Champion

Fly's Eye View

The fly flew towards the vast expanse of white,
imagining himself to be exploring Antarctica
in the frozen footsteps of Scott and Amundsen.
After taking a turn or two to survey the terrain
he landed softly - upside down - as you do down under.
The surface proved surprisingly warm and rough -
no soft snow or slippery ice -
just a newly painted Artex ceiling.
