A Shepherd raised a flock of sheep
He tends them day and night
His love for them is true and deep
He keeps them all in sight
Up in the hills to each He’ll call
Through vales His voice is heard
To goats it makes no sense at all
But sheep hear every word
Yet some prefer to push and shove
Some run from place to place
The Shepherd’s call in perfect love
Is thrown back in His face
Such wayward sheep are easy pray
A quarry light to steal
The wolf that stalks them night and day
Will have his longed for meal
The wolf is always on the prowl
His mouth is ever wide
Most foolish sheep may hear him growl
But find no place to hide
To lead them back to pastures green
A ewe, was raised on earth
No ram this ewe had ever seen
Yet to a Lamb gave birth
The Lamb had suffered midst the sheep
Had died to set them free
But soon arose from out the deep
Alive for all to see
Once more we hear His guiding voice
Right here, right now, today
We all His sheep must make a choice
Follow the Lamb, or stray?
