For A Fond Memory Poem by Andrus Cassian

For A Fond Memory

A rolling stone...I don't want to be
To settle down, it's all I want
All this pressure
memories of the girl next door
can't compare to how I feel about you
That one night proved to me now
through all my mistakes
and this vow, I have a little piece of heaven
staring back at me
waiting for me
Just want one time, one chance to hold you
but something's keeping me at bay
If I close my eyes one time
will you still be here to stay
I want it to be that way but
the sun's rising fast
and I'm almost out of time
I'll leave these petals here
for a fond memory and take the flower with me
And if a flower is all I have to you
then I'll wait three days
till I know it's true...
or till my memories betray me
and I fall into a wreck
Waiting for that chance for you to see me
with the same heart I place when I look at you
