For Granted Poem by Izik Alcox

For Granted

What a surprise that's in a sunrise
When you've never seen
Don't take it for granted

The sound of a single clef when you've been deaf
A miraculous wave of beauty
Don't take it for granted

There's no shock to be able to walk
When you don't need a wheelchair
Don't take it for granted

Don't forget to impart the love from your heart
Some don't get to know it
Don't take it for granted

The value of a smile can go a mile
To a person having a bad day
Don't take it for granted

Be thankful for your food as its being chewed
Many go hungry and even starve
Don't take it for granted

Someone out there has it worse than you
Be thankful and don't take it for granted
