For Me... Poem by Dante Rose

For Me...

For me the moon doesn't shine on the Earth, but shines on you and I
Rain doesn't fall but to remind me of the tears I've made you cry
The sun doesn't rise at dawn, but rises when you wake
And the stars can glow again after every obstacle we break

The sea doesn't glisten but to make me lonesome when I'm away
And to think of you, on another shore, roaming through the day
And the wind doesn't howl or blow but to carry to me your scent
And to sweep me back, along the breeze, to the day before I went
If not for you the clouds would muster, in the black and furious deep
For you hold my heart in your precious hands, and there it longs to sleep
