For Norberto De La Mancha Poem by Sebastian Soberania

For Norberto De La Mancha

no matter how i tell you
not to cry over spilled milk
you still do the crying
like a child
no advice from a god
can hold you
from shedding tears
over your
lot of nonsense
it is not about love or hate
it is just about
a word, not even the uselessness
of its syllable
it is just a foolishness of the
standards of man
its craze for the badge
a craving for a name
because you have embedded yourself that much
in the mud of man's silly existence

the stars do not have it
not even the sun
do you see their titles in their glow?

norberto, one must scan the heavens
and feel the universe
namelessly
you are more than any of those glowing treasures
you must welcome yourself to these sets
feel it and fathom it

you have worried that much
and they who have high regards to your past
may by now
shall feel the wastage of your future

wake up norberto
graze the cows to the pastures of our ancestors
fetch the water
and say your grace before you eat each meal
that has come from the sweat of your brow

back to the basics
how can we ever be weak?
