Forbidden Fancy Poem by Jennifer English

Forbidden Fancy

Exchanging texts in secret,
thoughts of him crush in on her,
but she can't tell anyone,
for what she feels is forbidden.

Pressure of things to come stress her,
college letters and interviews.
Her mother would disagree,
she's trying to focus her thoughts but fails.

He's on her mind, tramping around,
making her remember all the stupid things.
His dogmatic charasmatic presence lingers,
she longs to meet him.

But she can't be sure of his intent,
all her friends warn against it,
her sisters suspect something.
So she thinks: is he for real?

Anxiously waiting, she knows this is wrong
& she knows she should stop contact.
He could be lying about everything.
Two seperate lives & they should stay that way.

Will they?
