Forever And A Day Poem by Andrus Cassian

Forever And A Day

Her butterfly eyes, no, it couldn't be
wings of an angel, is it really
She's just a girl, an ordinary girl
but I say she's beautiful, radiant, brilliant
maybe I'm right, only I'm looking from afar
I don't have the will, the courage
apologies I'm shy, so shy
but is it wrong for me to say I have her back
like when it's against the wall
and she's forced to fight
I'll check to see if she's alright
Like if she needs a shoulder to cry on
mine is always available all hours of the day
Ironically, it was she who gave me advice before
and I gave her hundreds more
She might not be mine but I can still show her my world
well if she lets me see hers
She's one of the best friends I've ever had
and I hope our friendship will last
forever and a day
If nothing can remain the same
but I'm holding on to one hope
forever and a day
