Forgetful - Poem by Cally A. Nixon

skin and bones...
doesn't eat icecream cones.

No wonder,
he doesn't have any meat...
So now I'm going to,
take him out for a special treat.

Sugar, oats,
grain and hay...
Buddy has had,
such a wonderful day.

There's something missing,
I don't know what...
Buddy does,
and he kicked me in the but!

I think I know,
and now I remember...
It was back in,
August or September.

Yes, yes,
now I know...
Buddy's birthday,
Ow! He stepped on my toe.

That mustn't be it,
for why would he hurt me...
June, June,
it cannot be.

Oh yes,
my dad just told me the news...
Buddy was born in June,
now I have a bruise!
