Forgiveness Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Forgiveness

A hurt, a wrong, it stung so deep,
A memory you couldn't keep
From rising up, a heavy chain,
That pulled you back to yesterday's pain.

Forgiveness isn't saying, 'It's alright, '
When darkness stole your inner light.
It's choosing now, a different way,
To live your life, starting today.

Those old debts, both yours and theirs,
Release them to the honest air.
Breathe deeply in, let go, let fly,
Leave yesterday behind, and watch it die.

Tomorrow waits, a clean white page,
No matter what has filled this stage.
A gentle grace, a quiet might,
To step from darkness into light.
