Forsaken Attraction Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

Forsaken Attraction

Tried and found guilty.
Convicted of my mistakes.
Trying to serve my time.
And doing whatever it takes.

I just want to break out.
I just want to break free.
I know I did you wrong.
But you just won’t let it be.

Unforgiven,
I’m forsaken.
Thought you were different.
But I was mistaken.

You’re just like the others.
An eye for an eye.
Now I am going to give up.
Lord knows I tried.

You say I don’t get it.
What I give, you just take.
I just get what you give.
And it sure ain’t a break.

You act like the one.
And think there’s no other.
No one else just like you.
I just want a lover.

Give the others your best.
And give me your worst.
To them you’re an option.
To me you were first.

I’ve chased the wind for too long.
And I’ve chased it alone.
Now the love that I’ll give you.
Is the love that you’ve shown.

Stop all your talking.
Put your words into action.
You have proved that your love.
Was just merely attraction.
