Friendships In Time Poem by Ray Andrews

Friendships In Time

Cups of wine held high
Around the campfire
Just celebration for camping
Well done

A little below Moonshine Park
Four families tied together
We're close for life and eternity
No matter whatever whatever

Kids caught fish
Where we thought none
Asleep in their bags
Their day is done

Parents hiked far
Pushing the day
Chasing our cares
Far away

Tomorrow to home
The feeling is right
Our friendships will hold
Both day and night

Winter 2003

The campground is bare
Friendships have new faces
So much change
Rugs pulled out from under

One child is dead
From her own hand
A pilot died
While crossing the land

Little ones grown
Some very long tales
Problems and happiness
Far from our trails

Two couples moved
Far away
A radical change
In convivial play

One couple distanced
No more to the rest
I often think
This isn't best

Winter 2005

For most that were there
A new life is formed
Let go of the past
No time to mourn

New folks to meet
Our holiday thanks
Laughing and joking
Holiday pranks

Seasons here
Seasons gone
Opportunities present
All along
