From Eternity's Depths I Wandered—mad, With Longing Poem by Mystic Qalandar

From Eternity's Depths I Wandered—mad, With Longing

From eternity's depths I wandered—mad with longing—
When the command Be! breathed life into my soul,
And it was decreed: "Arise by My leave,
Bear My trust upon the earth."

I have roamed the gardens of paradise,
Your remembrance etched upon my heart—
That this barren earth might blossom
With the certainty of truth,
And become a paradise of return.

This covenant—embraced or denied—
I fulfill without falter;
I am no betrayer of vows,
For I am both:
Intention and fulfillment.

The faint echo of that eternal pledge
Carries the wine of ecstasy,
Aged within me like vintage flame—
Deeper, richer with time.

My path flows from the wellspring of forever,
Rushing toward the shoreless infinite—
And by its very essence
It sings of love and peace.

When at last the veil was lifted—
And I saw the source and stream are one,
The same beginning, the same return,
The same Creator, the same breath—
Then what remains of union or separation?
Where no distance lies,
What need for echo or reply?

Yet O companions of the way!
I shall not perish in the slumber of twoness—
I long to behold The One, The Unique, The Everlasting,
With eyes wide open,
And know Him as The Reality of Realities—
For this is the supreme grace.

I know:
Thought and remembrance sow the seeds of gnosis,
From them burst rays of divine light.
And when we move in tune with creation,
Upon this eternal unveiling,
We are swept into—
The Dance of Amazement.
