From The One Who Will Never Stop Poem by Brandon McConnell

From The One Who Will Never Stop

Rating: 5.0

It was unplanned the day we met
No idea, no expectation
A raging fire was surely set
Which fueled my confrontation

I did not know how to begin
But I knew we'd fit so well
You were like me, and deep within
A shared spirit did dwell

I do not believe in destined love
At least not like most do
But I believed some higher plan above
Prepared my heart for you

As one might expect, it shocked me
When love came crashing down
But as I healed I realized
That Love still wore the crown

In my passion my heart lost sight
Of what truly mattered most
To this true love I devote my fight
But not that I can boast

He demands I live my life for Him
It was never mine to keep
Lord, I pray my life be but a hymn
You use to call unto the deep

Let me be your instrument
I am unworthy of your claim
You hold me and you won't relent
And you love me all the same

I am the clay, so sculpt me
Your Will become my own
I worship Thee, the One of three
And gaze upon Your throne

Strengthen and rebuild me
I'll be a man of You
Bring me down upon my knee
And tell me what to do

Send me to the world's far end
But I do have one request
Please send with me a dear sweet friend
To join me on this quest

I will hold her and protect her
And love her like You do
And when I fail I will defer
And wholly trust in You

Bring us closer every day
To each other and to You
Let everything we think and say
Be honoring and true

Beloved, now, where have you gone
Your lips I crave to buss
Your beauty like first light at dawn
This is just the start for us

As one sun sets, a new will rise
But this time I will fix my eyes
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
