The next day
after seeing the cinematic genius
of Mel Gibson
I realized again
how horrible it must have been
for those who truly knew war.
My father was blessed by education
the Army had better uses for him
than carrying a rifle in the Pacific.
Many were not so fortunate.
Time will heal this piece of education
it has not been twenty four hours
and hands are shaking far less.
Yet what of those who truly carried the burden?
I can only offer a humble 'thank you.'
Make sure my Congressman knows my vote
goes to a hearty support of the VA.
