Fun With Literary Devices Poet: Rajendra Poem by Rajendra Prasad Meena Jaipur India

Fun With Literary Devices Poet: Rajendra

The moon is like a silver ball,
(Simile) shining over all.

My teacher is a guiding light,
(Metaphor) showing what is right.

The flowers laugh, the trees all sway,
(Personification) they seem to play.

"O Wind! Please stop and talk to me, "
(Apostrophe) loud and free.

A deafening silence fills the room,
(Oxymoron) quiet boom.

Some kids lose, some kids win,
(Antithesis) both live within.

The less I carry, the faster I go,
(Paradox) strange but true, you know.

The pen can change the world today,
(Metonymy) ideas find their way.

"All hands up! " the teacher said,
(Synecdoche) part for head.

Busy bees buzz bravely by,
(Alliteration) sound says hi.

The deep green sea rolls slow and free,
(Assonance) vowel melody.

Tick-tock, knock-knock, drip-drop sound,
(Consonance) all around.

Bang! Splash! Pop! hear rain fall,
(Onomatopoeia) fun for all.

"I waited a thousand years, " I cry,
(Hyperbole) not really—oh my!

"This work is not too bad, " I say,
(Litotes) a gentle way.

A red rose means love and care,
(Symbolism) hidden there.

Blue sky, bright sun, birds in flight,
(Imagery) pictures light.

Run, run, run to win the race,
(Repetition) keeps the pace.

Rhymes and beats make poems sing,
(Rhyme & Rhythm) joy they bring.
