Generations Poem by Michael Peterson

Generations

People are people no matter what age
From young to old, we're all the same
Over the years the younger generation has changed
From crew cuts, long hair to colored punk does
The clothing it self has also changed, some coming back
Dresses to mini skirts, dress pants to ripped blue jeans
But as they mature, so does us all
Learn by mistakes, earn lots of trust
Work together to make things better
How we remember our generation
Fearless, rebels, protesters, demonstrators
But as we grow older we learn to adapt and deal with change
Funny how the young minds think, till age is involved
Back to traditions and status quo
Changing the world takes a back seat to family life
We build society to deal with changes
It takes all to make the world a better place
Something simple, maybe little could make a impact
Work together, listen, trust, share can be the answers
No generation can change the problems
It's takes a bit of everyone from past to present to make the change
Starts with you and I, to lead the way
For the next generations learn from our mistakes
