Its hard to go on
Carrying the ghost of you inside me
Always

Your image seared on my heart
On my soul
Like a cattle brand
Hot
Smoking

The years pass
Yet still your essence lingers on
Permeating my days
Like some over strong and sweet perfume
Rendering your memory indelible

I try to forget
But the universe taunts me
Sprinkling little bits of you around

This man has your ears
That one your hair
Another has your lips
Here I see you older
There younger
See how that man sips his tea
There are echoes of you everywhere
Everywhere

Unwillingly I resonate
You haunt me
