Given Up Poem by Dashaun Rashod Snipes

Given Up

In the depths of despair, where shadows reside,
A heart once fierce, now withered and tired.
The battle fought, the struggle endured,
But hope, like a flickering flame, was obscured.

In the realm of dreams, where aspirations soared,
A spirit once bold, now defeated and floored.
The dreams once vivid, now faded and gray,
As doubts and fears held their relentless sway.

But amidst the darkness, a glimmer of light,
A voice whispered softly, refusing to take flight.
'Though you've stumbled and fallen, lost your way,
There's strength in surrender, a new path to convey.'

Given up, not in defeat, but in release,
Let go of the burdens, let the soul find peace.
For sometimes, in surrender, new beginnings arise,
A chance to rediscover, to soar to the skies.

The world may judge, may question and doubt,
But the power lies within, beyond any shout.
To surrender is not weakness, but courage untold,
To find solace within, to let go and unfold.

So let the winds carry away the weight,
As you embrace the freedom, the choice to create.
For in giving up, a new journey begins,
With resilience and grace, where hope never dims.

So, my friend, when you feel the urge to depart,
Remember, giving up can be the start.
Of a transformation, a rebirth of the soul,
Embracing the unknown, making yourself whole.
