I danced naked in the moonlight
enveloped by gentle beams.
I danced thanks for flora and fauna,
and mountains, plains and streams.
I heard the night owl call
asking who this night did bring,
in response I slowed my dancing
and with soft voice began to sing.
I thanked mother earth for
her providential store
of nourishment and water,
and still I sang of more.
Let me live in harmony
with all I meet along the way,
be it animal, fowl or man,
on this path I’ll try to stay.
With one last verse, thanks I gave
to those I cannot see,
to the spirits and the faerie folk
who share their world with me.
The meagre offerings left them
Had little value and were plain
but they are all I have to give
until I dance in the moonlight again.
