Gladiators And Knights Poem by Thompson Emate

Gladiators And Knights

The eyes see what they seek,
The unbelieving becomes meek,
Some sojourn into the deep,
They see the lost and forgotten.

The night awakens the sages,
There's an unravelling of the hidden pages,
The door opens to the unknown,
There's a seeing and a knowing.

Though I embrace a new day,
I find myself on a dark highway,
Mystery walks with me,
I fight eerie strangers gnawing at my mind.

I seek the light,
I'm intercepted by the night,
I still pursue my course,
I escape from the tendrils of the latter.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Life makes us gladiators. The passage of time makes us knights.
