Glint Of Sun Poem by S. R. Lavin

Glint Of Sun

The glint of sun daubing the pond
as if an eternal moment
conceived in isolation -

not the politics of finite power
nor the ruination of ideals

but a reflected image

like a chrysalis
turned to mush
and reformed
as sentient being.

World War III all around you
not incinerated cities
or atomized bits of consciousness
but the meaningless waste
and human devastation.

How do I argue against injustice,
economic oppression
and endless war?

And everywhere
the eye of God
watching?

How do we start again?

no longer trapped by time

and what we do not know
