Gloomy Day Poem by Jamal Downes

a loud thunder roared amidst
as I'm awaken by the sound
gloomy is the first feeling of the day
rain falls outside my window
a dreary day is whats instore,
from one recollection the sun shines
thoughts of she is what's on the mind
my eyes now sees a beautiful day.
knowing her smile is present,
brings relief to my mentality
even tho things are not the same
communication has been reduced
bacc and forths are no longer produced
like talking in the mirror only echos heard
but I still converse hoping for a reply
unlikely to have this wish come true
back to my thoughts I go reverting
still a gloomy day as I gaze out the window
