Gobbledygook Speaks Poem by Chris Lane

Gobbledygook Speaks

Like a tricked out circus clown
This character was amazing
And from gobbledygooks realm
He orated his unearthly lecture

As soon as he fell into a trance
The audience cheered him on
You could have heard a pin dropp
In- between his feverish outbursts

Were folks so really desperate
And in dire need of an alternative
As they had willingly paid
Just to sit and listen to gibberish

I concluded it was so
As in essence the “medium” fulfilled a role
By pouring full the vacuum
That had been created by the loss of organized religion

Uncontrollable were his convulsions
As he channeled words from another dimension
And when he finally finished “speaking”
The audience stood in ovation
