God's Gardener Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

God's Gardener

You underestimate my love
Like I underestimated His
You feel my love is what you think
Rather than it really is

For many years I did not know
What love was all about
And then I hit my knees one day
And now there is no doubt

No doubt at all that I was wrong
What a selfish way I lived
I thought it was about receiving
Then He showed me it's what I give

We all will reap just what we sow
And now I will obey
I'll plant my seeds in fertile ground
For the great harvest I'll have one day

So one day you will see my love
What you gave was not in vein
For a field of wheat is started from
One tiny little grain

You stuck with me through thick and thin
Through good times and the bad
And one day you just walked away
But now this makes me glad

Not glad because I broke your heart
But because of who I am
I know I had to lose your love
For me to find The Lamb

The time will come, when you will see
Things aren't always as they seem
For Jesus makes us new again
And our lives become our dreams

So now I'll sit and wait for you
I'll give you all the time you need
I'm thankful for God's gardener
You're the one that planted His seed
