God’s Judgement Tract Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God’s Judgement Tract

I’ve read a tract, which someone sent
Of those who die in shame
Who live to sin, who won’t repent
Who’ll end their lives in flame

If endless flame is all they’ll see
If sin has made them fall
I know right now, it’s not for me
I’ll heed Salvation’s call

It says, before a Judge we’ll stand
We’ll reap just what we’ve sown
Thus said the Lord, with upheld hand
Upon His mighty throne

We’re told the judge, sent forth His Son
Who served His Father well
Though life with Him is not all fun
He’ll save our souls from hell

I think I’ll give the Son a try!
Who knows, I might well stay
If then I live, or if I die
I’ll fear no judgement day

I’ve learned both Judge and God’s the same
I’m glad I’ve heard the news
I too have turned from sin and shame
For what had I to lose?

Before, of God I gave no thought
For more! I’d always craved
But through the tract, this fish is caught
And through God’s Son, well saved

In hope of Christ, I look above
From Christ I’ll never budge
I thank my Lord for all His love
And for my righteous Judge…
