God’s Lamp Within Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God’s Lamp Within

“The wayward man, must understand
The truth of Christ, is real
The answer found in Jesus’ hand
I’m eager to reveal

Through Adam’s sin, the earth was cursed
’Twas sin, his flesh made weak
You’ll eat by sweat, and always thirst
Until my face you seek

Till heads have bowed, till knees have bent
Till man repents of sin
Till hearts receive, whom God has sent
Till truth; dwells deep within

God’s Lamp, to light the darkest night
To lead the blind to see
To give the naked, robes of white
And set the captive free

From in the bowels, my Flame will rise
Upon man’s flesh, He’ll reign
He’ll purge out lust, demonic lies
Until you’re born again

Who’ll enter though my Heaven’s Door
The arms of Christ my Son
I’ll give them life, and so much more
The day my will, is done

But Satan prowls, in great disguise
He’ll rob he’ll cheat and kill
Yet through my Son; I’ll open eyes
Of those on Zion hill

Walk straight; my child, the road of life
Take heed, your Lord’s decree
Remember though, Lot’s foolish wife
When Christ has set you free”.
