God’s Living Key Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God’s Living Key

When Christ is spoken far and wide
Some smile, or shake their fist
Yet most will cast His name aside
And say, “He can’t exist”

Still others say, ”Perhaps it’s true
God lives above the earth
But who would ever serve a Jew?
Supposed of virgin birth”

But in the Lord, we all agree
It’s God who opens eyes
Through Jesus’ Spirit, man can see
The least confound the wise

There is a God, who loves to care
A King who reigns on high
Who truly came our shame to bear
For all our sins to die

Who rose again, just as He told
To whom each knee must bend
Though only sheep within His fold
Will see and comprehend

With Fire God’s locked the door so tight
With Christ The living Key
Now man can never see the Light
Until he bends the knee

For lowly has a man to pray
And as a child, must fear
With contrite heart, he needs to say
“In faith my God I’m here”

I humbly ask if You’ll forgive
Consume my life before
I crave release that I may live
To serve and love You more”…
