God’s Passe’ Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God’s Passe’

Most live and die satanic fools
Serving the devil’s plan
Since Adam and Eve became his tools
And wrought the fall of man

Though grace is free to all mankind
Since Jesus paid the cost
Yet God’s passé to eyes still blind
Outdated; to the lost

So now we watch our children fail
From grace beat swift retreat
For God’s some age old fairy tale
Un-macho on the street

No longer loved no longer feared
From schools long disallowed
He’s some old Jew with long white beard
Astride a far off cloud

But patiently our Father sits
As though it seems quite still
Watching His handwork torn to bits
Watching His children kill

What should He do what should He say?
To those of us still blind
When all the earth His works display
Yet no one gives a mind

How can our God return in vogue?
Be seen for all He’s done
Healing the sick saving the rogue
Through Jesus Christ His Son

We all should help our neighbours see
Standing our Father true
Showing, giving what Love gives free
To me my friend and you
