Goddess Poem by Suchoon Mo

Goddess

as I stood by a perfumed pond
a woman appeared and said to me
I am a liar and that is the truth
do you believe me?
I said yes

she smiled and whispered in my ear
please love me and trust me
I said yes

she was a goddess
she was lying
I was not
I am too human
