Gone Poem by Benjamin Jansen

Gone

Where was I when it mattered
Where was I when you needed me
I was gone lost in a moment in time
Trapped in this brain of mine
People came and people left
But I never noticed non the less
I was there then I was here
To you it doesn't matter to be anywhere
I was alone in a chair
Sitting atop clouds of angles
But none could soothe by torn heart
For I was lost gone forever
Empty bottles filled the room
Dirtied clothes littered the floor
And I was not here anymore
