Good Girl Poem by Caroline Misner

Good Girl

I’m going to be a good girl now
and give up the booze and the pot and the wine;
I’ll shun all the parties on Saturday night.
and work hard all day and be home on time.

I won’t flirt, I won’t dance
nor will I paint the town red;
I won’t come on to strangers
nor take them to bed.

I’ll wear proper clothes
with matching shoes and a hat,
I’ll stay home all night
and knit sweaters for cats.

I’m going to be a good girl now,
and give up the smokes and my will to be free;
my life will go on and I will become
the good little girl daddy wants me to be.
