Grace Bestowed Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Grace Bestowed

Are you prepared to face life’s trial
Before The living Lord
Accompany Jesus down the aisle
And flee the coming sword

Are you prepared to rise and soar
Beyond the realms of space
To boldly knock on Heaven’s door
And meet God face to face

Are you prepared to die and live
Tear down your house on sand
Receive the portion God will give
Within His righteous hand

Many may answer no of course
Spiritual lost and blind
They fail to see life’s one true source
To heal their troubled mind

But I’m prepared my life to change
Through faith in Jesus Christ
Allowing Truth to rearrange
And self be sacrificed

Impossible for mortal man
Like foolish sheep astray
Rebellious to The Shepherd’s plan
To walk His chosen way

Its Heaven’s will and great desire
To rescue from the pit
To save a soul from endless fire
A wayward life has lit

By grace bestowed from Heaven’s throne
The Promise from above
The Lord has rolled away death’s stone
And filled my heart with love
