Gummy Cola Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Gummy Cola

You’re like
a hard gummy cola,
I can’t chew, chew;
I taste nothing.

I look at it
from the tip
of my fingers;
it looks delicious.

I take one bite
off you
but I taste nothing but
my expectation’s fall.

Frowning
why can’t
I taste you,
gummy cola?

You’re like
a hard gummy cola,
I know there’s sugar
somewhere in you.
