Happy Hunting Poem by Charles Lara

Happy Hunting

Rating: 5.0

He told me...
The day my wife
picked up the personals
was the day
she took it
all away from me
it’s not that
I don’t love you
she told me
thank god for that
I replied
it’s just that we have
been together
for so long
and you ain't serving
what I desire
I guess my
lemonade stand’s closed
and the trap
inside my mind snapped
and I looked at her different
like the stranger she was
and my heart never did
think about her
the same after that
