Harder Harmonies: Take 2 Poem by Lora Cooley

Harder Harmonies: Take 2

A fever, a dream of a kiss
Hammers hit
Keys fall down bringing order, then chaos
A calm paints murals on the wall
Presses to your neck
Clutches to your hips
Sings softly of your fireworks
While there's a humming coming up outside
And admit a melody can't harmonize
The city's got it's own song
Play along
See the notes fly by
But it gets blurry, gets warm and distorted
Like light pushed the pillbox poured in
It falls to the floor
It hits like a voice
That hum drumbeat of life
The art-forms fire though the streets
Keep moving to phantom baton sweeps
The tempo of our feet never notice the song
Hear it tortured by the aching of a way to sing along
It all starts collapsing
Starts to ring out lapsing and crashing
But feel like mine match
There's a melody in everything
A harmony seems to work seems to fit in everything
I'm trying to find a harmony to work, to fit, a melody
I'm trying to find nothing, it seems to work
Nothing fits
