He Sleeps How I Sleep Poem by Robyn Chiswell

He Sleeps How I Sleep

He sleeps how I sleep
The duvet between his legs
Tucked over shoulders

He sleeps how I sleep
His face flat to the pillow
His back to the sky

He sleeps how I sleep
Someone curled up next to him
And sharing the warmth

He sleeps how I sleep
Imagination free
Land of make believe

He sleeps how I sleep
But there for the world to see
As strangers walk by

He sleeps how I sleep
But shows vulnerability
Has no protection

He sleeps how I sleep
But in any space he finds
To lay down his head

He sleeps how I sleep
But no one stops to help him
To find a way out

He sleeps how I sleep
But with a slight twist of fate
We are worlds apart
