He Was Killed By An Ambulance Poem by Job Ombati

He Was Killed By An Ambulance

He was on a rare rush
A life to save.
A call had come
His house was a ball of fire.

A main road he entered
And the ambulance, a diversion
The ambulance 's mind was in hospital
The man his house
Both, a life to save.

The man's head lay smashed
The boy's burnt.
The driver held his head.
One life lost.
One life saved.
One life tormented.
At an intersection.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Life can be at times ironic; full of life at one moment and death dealing the next. An act of life preservation can quickly turn out to be death dealing
