Head And Hands



Body beaten; eyes tired and red,
Such is the life of the hands and the head
Aching joints and a worn mind
Week to week; day by day,
Greater pride, but lesser pay.
Intellegence in question
From the dirt on my clothes
But dignity costs sweat
and enlightenment is in my soul.
Philosophy and empathy
Intellect and insight
All intertwined within
But the hands they labor
And the head does without
Calloused and scars are my work and my pride
But in my head and my hands
The two hold beauty
And that cannot hide...
