Healing In The Dark Poem by Gwendolyn Rivers

Healing In The Dark

She avoids the sun for it's too bright,
She cowers away from the light.
She stays indoors within her haven,
She feels her world about to cave in.
She hides away to keep control,
She loses pieces of her soul.
She escapes the crowds safe at home,
She finds comfort in the gloam.

She avoids the sun for it's too hot,
She cowers inside like she aught.
She stays indoors because she aches,
She feels the weight of her mistakes.
She hides her feelings for she is numb,
She loses sight of how far shes come.
She escapes the cycle of the past,
She finds her way out at last.
