Heart. Poem by Mandy Lee

Heart.

Prickly, ragged, tattered, torn.
Old, haggard, used, worn.
Folded, beaten, tossed, thrown.
Moulded, cheated, lost, owned.

There is a heart that is not mine,
the when that it once was is lost in time.
A time forgotten to you and me,
a time that love was once given for free.

It now costs in pain and tears and aches,
no longer whole, it comes in flakes.
A map now divided, no master to it does it belong,
so would that make it weak, or make it strong?
