Here is hard
Here is sand in my eyes
Lava in my lungs
Pepper in my Veins
Always burning
No matter how many oceans I let loose
On the searing, crackling, whatever that consumes me

Here is eternal
As far as the mind can see
Beyond what a heart can comprehend
So silent, it could drive a soul mad

Here is the wet beach
I escape to
Stealing into the night
A thief with baggage
Hungry for the stars
But stars don’t shine for me
No angels sigh for me

Here is desolate
Here is omnipresent
Here is the last place I’d want to be
But Here I am
Cuz it’s my place
It’s my confinement
Till parole I will wait
