I was nothing
And all I had was a dream
Of what I aspired to be.
And so I pretended to be what I longed to be.
But I am a thoroughgoing extremist,
So my pretence was extreme until,
In the fullness of time,
It turned into reality.
And so it was that the flower of truth
Stemmed from the lies
That were rooted in my dreams.
For if you carry pretence to its logical conclusion
Does it not become a reality?
