Hidden Light Poem by TIJANI ADEBOWALE DESTINY

Hidden Light

or the way I love
a rose in bloom,
because sunsets
and roses fade.
I love you
the way I love
the night's glowing
promise of dawn,
the way I love
the hidden light
carried by the stars.
I love you
the way I love
a winter garden
that holds the beauty
of flowers that have
not yet bloomed.
I don't love you
the way I love
the sun or the wind,
because they only touch me
on the outside.
I love you like
something beautiful
that lives inside me,
like the fire of existence,
a beautiful memory of childhood.
I love you with all
of the passion
that feeds my soul and
inspires my greatest dreams.
Without knowing how
or from where,
I love you
as completely
and as naturally
as the circle of life.
I love you as perfectly
as the way the stars shine
upon the whole world,
as perfectly as
the way your hand
lies upon my chest.
I love you
the way that I love
the unity and flow
between us,
the way we close our eyes
and dream of tomorrow together.
I love you,
infinitely,
passionately,
and profoundly,
with everything I am,
and with everything
I've ever hoped for.
