Higher Plain Poem by Ronald Speight

Higher Plain

Alright well I don’t do things off the top of the dome
I usually let it bleed out of my pen
So excuse me if I bore you
But if you get bored please show me to the door
Now let me get back on topic
Politics slick tricks
We need a solution
But everyone’s concerned with a quick fix
Everyone’s worried about what they have today
The cars the money the big house
It’s nice and all but remember this when I say it
What you have today
You can’t take with you to that higher plain
