Hiroshima A Memory Poem by Asokan Suppiah

Hiroshima A Memory

Histories they say - are
written by conquerors
but human tragedies are
written in memories

The black rain
incinerated cities
dead bodies
maimed survivors

Seven decades
it’s a long time
for history
but only
yesterday for memories

Standing on a pile of
dead bodies and
flying the flag of
super power is not
an act of human heart
but of devil’s thought

One Hiroshima
enough for our
memories
let’s not see another
In our life time
