His Eyes Poem by Riya Gangwar

His Eyes

Your eyes are the sea.
not the ocean or the shore but
the sea.
your lips are sirens that
call to me, 'look
here, look down here'
but I can't because then you'd know
what I was thinking of.
and your eyes are a crucifix and
oh my god
I'd die a thousand times over
for your mistakes and transgressions
please please please
let me.
So here I am
fixed upon your crucifix eyes,
your pupils are marbles
floating in the saccharine sea
and the whites of your eyes are
movie-star teeth
and the sky is made
of india ink and cream.
oh my god oh my god oh my
god.
I'm jealous of the photographs pinned to your bulletin board.
