His Tears Could Rust The Spring - Poem by Jason Ross

Why am I a slave to these 5 words
5 simple pimply little words
I am not the fool that you believe
You think I'm a jack in the box with a rusted spring
Go ahead and wind my crank till my little clown face pops out
I will jiggle and dance here, all about
Jam me back in my little box like a murdered man stuffed in a trunk
I will never ever suffocate in hear
My mind is strong so vast and wide
Though I'm locked in darkness half the time
See my painted smile, it is sublime!
How about some jazz hands one more time
Stuff me back in go ahead I'm fine
My heart is strong
These are not tears! It must be rain!
They are not tears, you are mistaken!
Upon these cheeks the raindrops roll
Stuff me back in I said I'm good
The sky was a perfect cerulean blue
'Get back in your box! '

'Get back in your box! '

I, m glad you wrote the note for this poem. Love is painful. it does bring tears and happiness too.. I liked these lines: You think I'm a jack in the box with a rusted spring. Love does make you like jack in a box. nice way of penning it. (Report) Reply
