Homecoming Poem by Brittany Keller

Homecoming

Im ready
Got my dress on, hair up, nails done.
I have no date, no guy friends to go with.
Only going for the reason, of one...friends.
When I arrive, I bump into one.
My ex...there he is.
He states he has no date
as obviously seen for my self.
We sit and talk, to catch up.
which seems like hours.
He asks me to dance, and we walk to the gym.
But wait, we're holding hands,
but wait we're not dating.
But wait, we're slow dancing,
but wait, we're not together.
As we dance to the special song of Far Away,
he leans down to say, he have been holding this off
that he may regret this on a later date.
He then leans down and kisses me.
In shock, I tilt my head up,
kiss him back to assure it's ok.
Now to this day, It's been six almost seven months.
This has been the day I will never forget.
